Table Mountain : 3 Firs / Tranquility Cracks / Woody Ravine : 10 Sept 2011
Starting at Theresa Avenue we proceeded along the pipe track to 100m before the turn into Slangolie Ravine. We then climbed onto and up 3 Firs Butress (a "B" climb). Then we hiked towards Hout Bay passing the top of Slangolie Ravine. Walking away from Slangolie Ravine you climb up until the path becomes level - at that point look right for a path and walk approx. 100m to enter and wander through the maze of Cracks known as "Tranquility Cracks". After enjoying our "lunch" there we retraced our steps passing the top of 3 Firs and then down Woody Ravine. There is plenty of evidence of the rockfall but if you walk carefully there is no danger. - weather 6 deg C / partly cloudy with rain all over the place but not on us!! wind : SW, slight icy breezy on top.
