Table Mountain : Up India Ravine - Down Venster Ravine 29 July 2011 - Pics by Keith
Starting at the Lower Cable Station - Straight up under the cable car cables to the contour path - then, instead of branching up to the right on the traditional Venster-India route, continue straight up India Ravine. Where it looks like you've hit a box canyon the continuation is dangerous and on the left hand corner - This route is really treacherous and should only be attempted with an experienced guide and with ropes. Once the 20m cliff has been cleared we continued upwards and to the right for tea at the top of Venster Butress whereafter we climbed down Venster ravine. Weather 20 deg C / clear skies - wind: nil. Hike Time 3h00mins.
